A project I wanted to started already long time ago i realized now. The entry needed little protection from the weather. Long I was thinking about possibilities. Also a solution how to come to the level of the entry door I needed. Stone stairs in front, wooden platform or natural stones would be a possibility. Our neighbor brought us big natural stones for this and I gave it a try. But it was somehow not good fitting. The stones would also need to be better in shape.

I am not an building expert but I just started and tried to make a construction. And I decided for a wooden platform. One big stone should be the stair.

To connect the roof from house and the prebuilding its more difficult than I thought. So now before the rain I put just iron on top of my construction. Sometimes I will try a better construction to connect the two roofs. But for now its fine.

Before we ask also few building companies and roof specialist to find a solution, but all where just shaking with head. It's typical for this region here to have a roof around house. But the company who build the prehouse was not able to do it.

Once we had a company here to make some iron works on the house like the window boards. We also asked them for a solution to connect the roofs. They said maybe this could be a way or other solution. It was nothing concrete. It was little demotivating for me. When even professional worker dont find a solution, how can I do it.

So the best is just to take the time for this project and do it. A solution is coming at trying and building

I am quite happy about my work also its not perfect and the final works are missing. Self-made is always the best. The entry door is now protected and also the wooden construction.

DE: Dach über dem Eingang

Ein Project das ich schon lang verwirklichen wollte habe ich jetzt geschafft. Der Eingangsbereich brauchte einen Wetterschutz. Lange habe ich ich mir über die verschiedenen Möglichkeiten den Kopf zerbrochen. Auch wie ich auf des Level der Eingangstür komme. Steintreppen, Holzpodest oder auch Natursteine waren eine Möglichkeit. Unser Nachbar hat uns dafür sogar extra große Natursteine gebracht. Ich habe es damit ausprobiert aber die Steine haben nicht gut gepasst und hätten erst noch in Form gehauen werden müssen.

Ich bin kein Bauexperte so habe ich einfach mal angefangen etwas zu bauen. Ich habe mich dann auch für ein Holzpodest entschieden. Ein großer Stein soll als Treppenstufe dienen.

Die beiden Dächer von Haus und Vorhaus zu verbinden gestaltete sich jedoch als nicht ganz einfach. Somit habe ich erstmal ein Blechdach aufgelegt als ersten Regenschutz. Später werde ich mir wenn Zeit ist noch etwas Überlegen um die beiden Dächer schöner zu verbinden.

Zuvor haben wir auch einige Baufirmen angefragt hierfür eine Lösung zu finden. Es ist eigentlich ein typischer Baustil hier in der Gegend das Dach umlaufen zu verbinden. Die Baufirma, die das Vorhaus erbaut hat, hat es nicht geschafft.

Einmal hatten wir eine Firma bei uns um ein paar Eisenarbeiten am Haus zu machen wie z.B. die Fensterbretter und den Dachabschluss. Wir haben die Handwerker auch nach einer Lösung für die Dachverbindung gefrag, aber auch Sie hatten keine klare Lösung. Das war etwas demotivierend für mich wenn sogar die Leute vom Fach keine Lösung finden.

Das beste ist sich einfach die Zeit für das Projekt zu nehmen und beim Bauen uns Ausprobieren findet sich eine Lösung.

Ich bin ganz glücklich auch wenn es nicht perfekt ist und noch einige Arbeiten gemacht werden müssen. Die Eingangstüre ist besser vor Verwitterung geschützt und auch kommt kein Wasser zu der Holzkonstruktion vom Vorhaus.
